HENRIZI-SCHNEIDER POST382 - Menomonee Falls, WI
American Legion Post 382
This spring, the Henrizi-Schneider American Legion Post 382 in Menomonee Falls sustained wind damage in a storm. As a result, we need to do repairs on our roof. The insurance only covers a portion of the repairs needed and we have to raise money for the rest of the building repairs.
Our building, pictured below, is how it looks today and in 1947 when it was purchased from the Masonic Lodge in the Falls for $9,900. It has stood in the heart of downtown Menomonee Falls for decades and its legacy needs to be preserved for our veterans.
Originally named the Fred Henrizi Post, honoring the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henrizi, who was a WWI casualty. Fred Henrizi was born in Menomonee Falls, November 26, 1888. His remains were buried in France. In August of 1962, a new charter was introduced, adding the name Schneider. This was to honor Willard (Pat) Schneider, a Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corp, who was killed in WWII. He was the first known fatality recognized by the Village of Menomonee Falls. The new title has remained and we today still are the Henrizi-Schneider Post 382.
Our Campaign Goal is to raise $7,000 to cover these expenses. We are asking the business community to help in this effort. You can help by becoming a business sponsor. All sponsors donating over $250 will be acknowledge in our Hall on a commemorative plaque. Your donations play a large role in making this event a big success! Since we are nonprofit, a copy of our 501c3 can be provided so you can use your donation as a tax write-off. We can also send a confirmation letter or email back for your records. Just let us know what you need.
American Legion Post 382 is a nonprofit veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.
